Happy Weekend

I'm so happy! I've had such a lovely weekend. Saturday was a really chill day. I worked and looked at townhomes and fixed my watch and got a little bored. We had outdoor baby and a dance party!

But that night we had excitement! Mom, Dad, Rissa, and Hyrum came to visit us on their way to Italy. We ate at Brick Oven and went on a big walk through campus. I got to see Rissa's new hair, eat really good margherita pizza, see the parents being the cutest grandparents, and have great chats. I just love them so, so much and am going to MISS them!
Then this morning the family came to church in our ward with us. Church with Parley still stresses me out way more than it should. Even if Parley screamed and cried the whole time, it wouldn't be too big and deal. But I still get all tight. Nikki took him pretty much all of church, and Parley did just fine. Nikki took him out during sacrament meeting when he was fussy. After a few minutes, I texted Nikki to see how they were doing. He answered, "Happy as clams" with this picture.
How I love those two! I was able to help more in primary because Nikki took Parley to Elders Quorum. I love primary! The highlight was this cute sunbeam with all the confidence in the world was in charge of sharing the scripture of the week. It was D&C 64:9 from this week's Come, Follow Me. But he had his own little red copy of the Book of Mormon that he brought. He got up to the podium and said, "Let me find it." He flipped to a random page in Helamen with the book upside down and pretended to read outloud as I whispered him the words of the D&C verse. Such a cute kid! And I love the other ladies in primary. It's really good to see them every week. I'm going to miss them, too.
After church, the family came over for lunch. Nikki made delicious tacos, and we had such a good time visiting. They did all the dishes and treated Parley like royalty. I decided I should have them over for lunch everyday-- I don't have to cook, do the dishes, or even take care of my baby. I just chat and eat yummy food! They're flying across the world right now, and I really hope they're safe.
I took the best nap after they left, and then we've just been hanging out. At one point, Parley had a giant spit up all over my dress and his sleeve and hair. We took a team bath, which we've never done before. And we may never do again! I had him layed on my knees facing me, and he peed on me! I was lucky it didn't quite reach my face. But it was worth it cause after that, I was moving him back and forth floating in the water, and he loved it! He had the biggest smiles I've ever seen. He is such a sweet, wonderful kid. We also went on a walk. Nikki and I had a wonderful time, but Parley was a bit grumpy until he fell asleep.

Also, we applied to rent a three bedroom house with a yard in Tallahassee. I'm really excited about it! We have such a good, exciting life. I feel so blessed.

  1. I just love reading about your adventures with Parley and seeing all the great photos. Has there ever been a more loving grandparent photo? Love you all.

  2. Is the three bedroom with a yard one you told me about? Sounds great!
