If only his dad could always hold him.

Parley loves to be held so much. During the day, any time I lay him in his crib, he wakes up within 5 minutes. We try a couple times a day but have most naps snuggled while I'm working. I don't mind. 

He also loves to be held by his dad. At least once a day, Parley cries inconsolably for me (I try everything, and he still screams and screams), but then Nikki picks him up, and he calms right down. We went on a walk when Parley was real fussy this evening. At first it really calmed him down (he loves being an outdoor baby), but then he started screaming and screaming so, so mad. We turned back from our walk, but after a few minutes of this, Nikki decided to carry Parley the rest of the way home. Parley calmed down right away and went to sleep. 

Parley has been consistently falling asleep at 11 or later (sometimes much later) for the last few weeks. I'll get him to sleep earlier and think his night is ready, lay him in his crib, and have him wake up pretty quick. Tonight, he fell asleep at 10:30, and I was excited. I layed him down and went to get ready for bed. I came back to say goodnight to Nikki (he was finishing something in his pirate video game before coming to bed, too), and Parley was snuggled with his dad, dead asleep. Parley had woken right up, and Nikki went to comfort him. Nikki decided to stay up snuggling Parley until he woke up next. Finally, after 3 hours fast asleep (which is longer than Parley usually sleeps in a row without eating, even at night), Nikki put Parley in his crib and came to bed. Parley woke up almost immediately. I got to to feed him, he fell asleep, I put him in his crib, and 5 minutes later he was awake again. 

It makes me wonder what would happen if Parley slept on Nikki all the time. How long would he sleep? Would he be happy all the time? It also make me glad to have such a good husband and a baby who loves his dad so much.
