Wonderful Day

Parley had his 2 month appointment on Tuesday, and he is 9.5 lbs! We found out that his weight is in the 2nd percentile, but it used to be in the 0.4 percentile. So he's making progress! The pediatric also said that Parley is a healthy baby. :) Parley got 2 shots of vaccines. He didn't like the pokes at all and seemed a bit sick the rest of the day. He slept a lot and was real sensitive. We snuggled big. 


Wednesday was a wonderful day. Let me tell you about three highlights:

First, we had a family nap! I had a tough night and was really sleepy. Parley was fussy and needed to sleep, too. I got him to sleep and put him in his crib, and he woke up right away, very upset with me. Nikki was a super hero. He was working, but he stopped what he was doing and took Parley. He layed on our bed with Parley on top of him in Parley's favorite nap position. Then I climbed in and slept next to them. We slept for 2hrs and 45 minutes! It was magical. Nikki stayed awake for safety for our boy and snuggled us. I'm so blessed to have that man. I love our little family. 


Second, I'm liking my job so much! I'm working for Hannah's homeschool art company, writing curriculum. Right now I'm helping make packets on Canva. I can do it while holding or feeding Parley, and it's great fun. It's my favorite thing to do when I'm up with Parley in the night cause it really wakes me up. And I get to work with Olivia, which is the best. We're often awake very late or very early together. 

Third, we had a dinner party! John and Liz came over for burritos and brought churros. We ate and chatted and played Bang. They are getting married in July, and I am so, so happy for them! They are such quality people, and it's so comfortable to hang out with them. We're lucky to have such good friends. 

Also, I got a new baby carrier that I used for the first time cleaning the house in preparation for the dinner. Parley slept great in it, though he did spit up all over me. If we keep using it, I am going to get so strong. I did a lot of squatting because I couldn't bend over with it on. 

Also, here's some pictures of tummy time today. Parley is so, so strong! Notice the different backgrounds. He flipped his head all the way around. 


And a picture of him fresh and clean after his bath. He hit a big milestone. He farted in the bath for the first time ever, with bubbles and everything. 

We have a wonderful life full of these wonderful days, and I am so thankful!

 I love Nikki and Parley more than anything. More than sleep. Or food. Or feeling normal and healthy. Or going to the temple or the chiropractor. Or running. Or teaching. My life has changed a lot since getting pregnant and even more since Parley was born. But it's been so wonderful because there is nothing I'd rather be doing than taking care of our boy with Nikki.  We had big news today. Nikki got an acceptance letter to Florida State University. That's so huge! And I'm really, really excited for a lot of reasons. But I'm also scared. I'd gotten used to the idea of staying in Provo for another year, in our same ward, close to our family and friends and chiropractor, bank, pediatrician, and everything else we know. It felt really comfortable.  But of course Florida is the exact step we want to take for our life dreams. And it will be a grand adventure. Grateful Sunday

Recently I've been struck by how fragile a good, happy life is. In my scripture study, the news, and the lives of close friends and family members, I see over and over how hard and scary life can be. It's heavy and crazy to think about, and I am left feeling ridiculously blessed. I feel like our little family is in a magical, happy bubble. I am living my dream-- doing exactly what I want to do with the people I want to do it with. And I don't want to take it for granted. I am so full of gratitude! I am grateful for Nikki! We just started birthday week and are so excited to have all sorts of fun together. He is so thoughtful and my best friend. He texts me all through the day when he's off doing business, and we have such lovely family dates when he gets home. Yesterday all three of us went to Walmart together to go shopping for the week. My Projects

Happy Dahl family reunion and happy birthday to Lina! I'm thinking of you all today. We've had such a wonderful Sunday. Our ward is so nice, and Jesus Christ and His gospel are amazing. Nikki spoke in church! I love listening to him talk. He prepped for a 10 minute talk and then got to speak for 25 minutes, but he had a lot of poise and did great.  I've been busy with a lot of projects. I like working on them a lot. The biggest one is that the book Dad and I wrote, Autism in Christ's Church , is officially published and available to the public!! I spent a lot of hours on it and am really excited to be in this stage. I messaged all the people I interviewed for the book to get their address so we can send them a copy. I've also been contacting lots of podcasts to ask if Dad and I can talk about the book with them. So far we have two interviews scheduled!! They're with Latter-day Light and Leading Saints.
