A Lot to Miss

We're moving in two weeks from today!! I've been going back and forth between being really excited and really sad and scared.

I'm excited for a bigger house, our new ward, Nikki's PhD, the weather, the beach, and just a whole new adventure.

I'm scared I'll be lonely. I'm also a bit scared about the whole moving, deep cleaning, spending 13 days without Nikki, and driving and flying for hours with Parley situation. I've been trying to focus on the excited part and remembering that you can't have faith and fear at the same time.

I'm sad because there is a lot to miss. I'm going to miss the mountains and BYU campus. I'm going to miss Provo-- I've spent so much time running and walking around these neighborhoods. I'm going to miss our little apartment that we've lived in our whole married life. Mostly I'm going to miss all the people. I'm going to miss my family! I won't be able to go to Thanksgiving or cherry pie night or lunch with Mom and Dad when they are randomly in Utah all the time. I won't be able to go to the fair or Fairfield branch with Sharon. And I won't see my wonderful neighbors anymore or the people in my ward I love so much. And I'll miss hanging out with my cohort! Eve, Yllen, Angel and I are having a potluck lunch on Monday before I move and Angel has her baby. They planned it inside and at lunch time just for me so it would work well for Parley. They are such good friends, and I'm really going to miss them.

I've been crying a bit, but I'm so grateful that I have so much that I love and will miss so much. We've had such a lovely time here, and I have faith that we have lots more lovely times to come!

  2. Oh, change is always so complicated. I am glad the most important things don't have to change. Ever.
