Starr Valley Baby

We did it! Our apartment is clean and empty, and all our worldly belongings are crammed into a U-Haul trailer, our car being towed behind, and my suitcase, which I'm very afraid will be too heavy to fly with. 

People have been really good to us to make it all happen. John, Tyler, the Rhodes, and my Dad came to help at 8 this morning. Nikki and them all worked so hard. We have a VERY heavy piano that was Grandma Jaynes'. I love it and refuse to get rid of it, and they got it down from our third floor apartment. We also had too much stuff for our little trailer, but they stacked things very strategically, and we only had to give up a lamp, vacuum, broom, and mop. Parley and I hung out and worked on cleaning the apartment. Parley was such a good sport through it all. I was so, so proud of him!


I got to meet Angel's little girl on my way out, and then I drove to Murray to meet Mom. Nikki and Dad took off for Florida. They got to Farmington, NM today. It sounds like they are having a great time besides being sleepy and a bit stinky from working so hard this morning and this incident: 

I am so grateful for them and miss Nikki so much. 

I have also had a great time. Mom and I sang Parley the Nevada state song when we crossed the border, and he just loved it. It's been so nice to see so much family. Everyone dotes on Parley, which is the most fun. Lili and Josh's wedding reception is tomorrow, so we've been working to get ready for it. I got to see Grandma, Grandpa, the Cobians, Hannah, Britta, Desi, Mason, Rissa, Morgan, and Mom. Grandma played Patty Cake with Parley and rubbed his belly. Now they're special friends, as you can see. I'm so glad I get this special time with my family before going to Florida. 





Now I'm very sleeping and going to bed! Starr Valley Baby fell asleep on me, and I hope he stays asleep and loves his porta crib. He's had a big day. 

(P.S. I got distracted after writing this before posting it. Parley has woken back up twice and is having a snack now. He probably doesn't want to sleep without saying goodnight to his dad. Poor kid. I don't blame him.)

 I love Nikki and Parley more than anything. More than sleep. Or food. Or feeling normal and healthy. Or going to the temple or the chiropractor. Or running. Or teaching. My life has changed a lot since getting pregnant and even more since Parley was born. My Projects

Happy Dahl family reunion and happy birthday to Lina! I'm thinking of you all today. We've had such a wonderful Sunday. Our ward is so nice, and Jesus Christ and His gospel are amazing. Nikki spoke in church! I love listening to him talk. He prepped for a 10 minute talk and then got to speak for 25 minutes, but he had a lot of poise and did great.  I've been busy with a lot of projects. I like working on them a lot. The biggest one is that the book Dad and I wrote, Autism in Christ's Church , is officially published and available to the public!! I spent a lot of hours on it and am really excited to be in this stage. I messaged all the people I interviewed for the book to get their address so we can send them a copy. I've also been contacting lots of podcasts to ask if Dad and I can talk about the book with them. So far we have two interviews scheduled!! They're with Latter-day Light and Leading Saints. 1 hour feeding

 63:53. Parley ate for 63 minutes and 53 seconds in a single feeding! He got into his pajamas and had his diaper changed THREE times with the timer paused, but besides that the eating was non stop. Since this feeding started at 9:18 pm and went until almost 11 pm, it cut into my sleep time and was a bit discouraging. Parley reached one month old last Friday. He is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me, but I have also been dead tired for a month. I started the feeding quite grumpy because I had a headache and wanted to be sleeping. But by the end of it, I'm just grateful. Parley was born 3 weeks early and acted earlier than that. He had to stay in the hospital three extra days because he wasn't eating well, and I met with more lactation specialists than anyone ever has.
