Thankfulness

Nikki and Dad made it to Tallahassee!! They got to our townhouse at 9:45pm, and seven people from the ward came to help them move our stuff in. They said everyone was so kind, and they brought us cookies. Our house is in a really nice neighborhood and seems great. It's so much bigger than our old apartment. I was talking to Nikki as he was searching through our stuff looking for some missing pieces to put our bed together. He's leaving for Denmark on Wednesday, and he wants to get everything unpacked before then. I wish so much that I was there! I want to see it all and meet our ward and help get set up. 

In Doctrine and Covenants 78:19 it says, "He who receiveth all things with thankfulness shall be made glorious." It is glorious to receive all things with thankfulness. Not just the things we love. And there are so, so many things to be thankful for with the plan we have, even if I don't get to be in Tallahassee right now. 

I'm thankful Nikki and Dad made it safe and had such a great time together. It makes me so happy that they're good friends. They are both wonderful men. And I'm grateful everything has gone while since they've got to Tallahassee. I'm so thankful to have such a good husband and dad to do all this work for us. 

I'm thankful I could be there for Lili and Josh's Starr Valley reception. It was really fun to help with it, and it was just lovely. It was special to be a part of. 




I'm thankful to be with such good, good people. I love my family so much, and I get to hang out with them a lot. And the Wells ward is so dear, and I saw lots of people I love at the reception last night. It's special to get to see them before leaving for so long. I'm especially thankful to be with Rissa before she moves to Spain. I'm worried our visiting home times won't overlap that often over the next 5 years, and I'm going to miss her. 




I'm thankful Parley gets to spend time with the family, especially his grandparents. Mom just loves him and takes such good care of him. She was telling us all about her life when she had little babies. She is such a great mom and grandma. And what a great time he has with his great grandma, playing patty cake and getting his tummy rubbed. Nikki has planned for Parley to watch some John Wayne movies with his great grandpa while we're here. He doesn't want Parley to get too girly just spending time with girls when his dad is gone. And Parley is SO excited to spend a whole week with his grandpa once he gets back from Florida. 



I'm so thankful to be with Parley. He is so cute and curious. He has the biggest eyes and tries to take in the whole world. He loves to be turned outward, looking at everything. His neck is getting so strong! He's smiling and sticking his tongue out a lot, and he's growing like crazy. We had to retire another outfit today because it was pinching his toes. 










And I'm thankful for Starr Valley. It is so beautiful. I'm going to miss it. 



I'm such a blessed girl!

 I love Nikki and Parley more than anything. More than sleep. Or food. Or feeling normal and healthy. Or going to the temple or the chiropractor. Or running. Or teaching. My life has changed a lot since getting pregnant and even more since Parley was born. 1 hour feeding

 63:53. Parley ate for 63 minutes and 53 seconds in a single feeding! He got into his pajamas and had his diaper changed THREE times with the timer paused, but besides that the eating was non stop. Since this feeding started at 9:18 pm and went until almost 11 pm, it cut into my sleep time and was a bit discouraging. Parley reached one month old last Friday. He is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me, but I have also been dead tired for a month. I started the feeding quite grumpy because I had a headache and wanted to be sleeping. But by the end of it, I'm just grateful. Parley was born 3 weeks early and acted earlier than that. He had to stay in the hospital three extra days because he wasn't eating well, and I met with more lactation specialists than anyone ever has. Snuggle Sunday: A Day of Rest

I've always loved Sundays. Since I've had Parley, they have felt significantly harder. The toughest part is that our church is at 9, and one of Parley and my biggest chunks of sleep is usually around 8-10. Last night, as you read, wasn't the greatest night for me, but I took a bath and got all ready for church this morning. Nikki got me a pretty green dress with a v-neck for nursing like I like and pockets! It was my first time wearing, plus I put on mascara, so I was looking so good. But I was tired, and a tiny thing happened, and then I was crying about everything and nothing and couldn't stop.  Nikki told me to go take a nap and that I can go to church next time. At first that made me cry more because I wanted to go to church and really want to be put together enough to be able to go to church. But this increased crying convinced me that he was right.
