Pre-PhD

Nikki has orientation for his PhD on Monday, so he's been home with us and not busy yet. The three of us are the best of friends and so happy together! We have a new plan for how we want to eat, and we've been cooking a lot. We've put up some more pictures getting our house all nice. And we just hang out together. Nikki gives Parley rocket rides, and he loves them. I give Parley a bath every night, and he loves them. Every day his Grandma Marianne reads him Barnyard Dance on a video call, and everyone loves that. We have such fun every day. We sing songs and read stories and have movie parties and go on walks. Parley is getting better at sleeping! I just feel so blessed to have this time all together. And so blessed to have this wonderful family. We get to be together always, and it is so, so special!

 I love Nikki and Parley more than anything. More than sleep. Or food. Or feeling normal and healthy. Or going to the temple or the chiropractor. Or running. Or teaching. My life has changed a lot since getting pregnant and even more since Parley was born. But it's been so wonderful because there is nothing I'd rather be doing than taking care of our boy with Nikki.  We had big news today. Nikki got an acceptance letter to Florida State University. That's so huge! And I'm really, really excited for a lot of reasons. But I'm also scared. I'd gotten used to the idea of staying in Provo for another year, in our same ward, close to our family and friends and chiropractor, bank, pediatrician, and everything else we know. Happy Dahl family reunion and happy birthday to Lina! I'm thinking of you all today. We've had such a wonderful Sunday. Our ward is so nice, and Jesus Christ and His gospel are amazing. Nikki spoke in church! I love listening to him talk. He prepped for a 10 minute talk and then got to speak for 25 minutes, but he had a lot of poise and did great.  I've been busy with a lot of projects. I like working on them a lot. The biggest one is that the book Dad and I wrote, Autism in Christ's Church , is officially published and available to the public!! I spent a lot of hours on it and am really excited to be in this stage. I messaged all the people I interviewed for the book to get their address so we can send them a copy. I've also been contacting lots of podcasts to ask if Dad and I can talk about the book with them. So far we have two interviews scheduled!! They're with Latter-day Light and Leading Saints. 1 hour feeding

 63:53. Parley ate for 63 minutes and 53 seconds in a single feeding! He got into his pajamas and had his diaper changed THREE times with the timer paused, but besides that the eating was non stop. Since this feeding started at 9:18 pm and went until almost 11 pm, it cut into my sleep time and was a bit discouraging. Parley reached one month old last Friday. He is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me, but I have also been dead tired for a month. I started the feeding quite grumpy because I had a headache and wanted to be sleeping. But by the end of it, I'm just grateful. Parley was born 3 weeks early and acted earlier than that. He had to stay in the hospital three extra days because he wasn't eating well, and I met with more lactation specialists than anyone ever has.
