BIRTHDAY WEEK

Nikki's turned 28 on Thursday. Parley and I have been so excited to celebrate him. We both just love him with our whole heart. We got special snacks for him to take in his lunches all week. Though, I ended up eating all the pudding cups because he actually doesn't like them, but I think that are the funnest thing. 

Last Saturday, his monitor came! He had quite the time deciding what he wanted for his birthday from my parents, and finally settled on that. He loves it so much! I helped him set it up, and all week he's been calling me over to show me how good everything looks on it. 

Thursday, we had pancakes and presents in the morning, and he got to come home pretty early. The three of us hung out and had a lovely time. Parley got to spend lots of time in his carrier, which he loves. We made mac and cheese with steak in it and a cookie cake for dinner. I played World of Warcraft with Nikki that night. I was pretty nervous because I'm awful at video games, but I actually had a lot of fun. Our characters are married, and it's a great romance. :) Yesterday, we finished off our celebrations by watching football and eating delicious restaurant food we picked up (thanks to the Blakes and Grandparents!)

I can't explain how blessed I feel to be married to Nikki. He makes my whole life happy. He is funny and smart and thoughtful and gentle and honest and really tough and patient and my best friend. I am so glad that I am sealed to him and Parley forever.

 I love Nikki and Parley more than anything. More than sleep. Or food. Or feeling normal and healthy. Or going to the temple or the chiropractor. Or running. Or teaching. My life has changed a lot since getting pregnant and even more since Parley was born. But it's been so wonderful because there is nothing I'd rather be doing than taking care of our boy with Nikki.  We had big news today. Nikki got an acceptance letter to Florida State University. That's so huge! And I'm really, really excited for a lot of reasons. But I'm also scared. I'd gotten used to the idea of staying in Provo for another year, in our same ward, close to our family and friends and chiropractor, bank, pediatrician, and everything else we know. It felt really comfortable.  But of course Florida is the exact step we want to take for our life dreams. And it will be a grand adventure. Grateful Sunday

Recently I've been struck by how fragile a good, happy life is. In my scripture study, the news, and the lives of close friends and family members, I see over and over how hard and scary life can be. It's heavy and crazy to think about, and I am left feeling ridiculously blessed. I feel like our little family is in a magical, happy bubble. I am living my dream-- doing exactly what I want to do with the people I want to do it with. And I don't want to take it for granted. I am so full of gratitude! I am grateful for Nikki! We just started birthday week and are so excited to have all sorts of fun together. He is so thoughtful and my best friend. He texts me all through the day when he's off doing business, and we have such lovely family dates when he gets home. Yesterday all three of us went to Walmart together to go shopping for the week. My Projects

Happy Dahl family reunion and happy birthday to Lina! I'm thinking of you all today. We've had such a wonderful Sunday. Our ward is so nice, and Jesus Christ and His gospel are amazing. Nikki spoke in church! I love listening to him talk. He prepped for a 10 minute talk and then got to speak for 25 minutes, but he had a lot of poise and did great.  I've been busy with a lot of projects. I like working on them a lot. The biggest one is that the book Dad and I wrote, Autism in Christ's Church , is officially published and available to the public!! I spent a lot of hours on it and am really excited to be in this stage. I messaged all the people I interviewed for the book to get their address so we can send them a copy. I've also been contacting lots of podcasts to ask if Dad and I can talk about the book with them. So far we have two interviews scheduled!! They're with Latter-day Light and Leading Saints.
