I love doing things!
On Friday, the three of us went to The One Week Boutique. It's a thrift store of children's clothes and toys and whatnot that was at the event center at FSU for one week. We have a ward group chat of young moms, and one of them told us about it. We decided to go, and it brought me so much joy! Being home with my little boy is one of the best things in the whole world. But going out, I realized how much I love doing things! It's so fun to drive somewhere and shop and do something that you don't do every day.
Nikki drove. He knows how to get places around Tallahassee without directions, which is very impressive. I thought it was in a different place than it was and parking was tricky, but we finally made it. FSU is building a fancy new business building, and we got to drive by it.
There was lots of good stuff there and really kind people. It was fun to shop around. Nikki especially loved looking at the toys. He can't wait for Parley to get bigger and get excited about cool toys. There was an Emperor Zurg one Nikki said he would have gone crazy over as a kid.
We brought $100 in cash. I didn't think we'd spend that much, but I didn't have smaller bills. We spent $96! We got 3 pairs of pajamas and a sleep sack that are too big for him now but will be perfect when he grows out of the ones he wears now. We also got a lot of books (because children's books are our favorite thing, and you can never have too many). And we got a plastic blowup log situation because Parley has been into climbing on things and an excersaucer. Parley has had lots of fun with them! One of my favorite parts is that Nikki always forgets the word excersaucer and calls it an omnidirectional bounce pad.
Parley was a trouper through it all. He started to get tired as we shopped but just hung out with his dad and didn't cry. As soon as we got back to the car, he cried big for about a minute and then fell dead asleep.
I feel so lucky and grateful to have my two boys. They are so cute and fun and make me happy. I'm also so grateful that I get to talk on the phone to my siblings and parents so much. Family is the best thing in the world!
(Parley joined me for part of the BYU class I started this week.)
(Parley has been so interested in this quilt, and we tried to get a picture for his grandma who made it.)
I can't believe how much older he looked in some of these photos. Especially the first one. He just looks so much more mature. What a little cutie. Glad you had a fun shopping trip. Looks like you got some great things. Love you all so much.
