My Projects

Happy Dahl family reunion and happy birthday to Lina! I'm thinking of you all today. We've had such a wonderful Sunday. Our ward is so nice, and Jesus Christ and His gospel are amazing. Nikki spoke in church! I love listening to him talk. He prepped for a 10 minute talk and then got to speak for 25 minutes, but he had a lot of poise and did great.  I've been busy with a lot of projects. I like working on them a lot. The biggest one is that the book Dad and I wrote, Autism in Christ's Church , is officially published and available to the public!! I spent a lot of hours on it and am really excited to be in this stage. I messaged all the people I interviewed for the book to get their address so we can send them a copy. I've also been contacting lots of podcasts to ask if Dad and I can talk about the book with them. So far we have two interviews scheduled!! They're with Latter-day Light and Leading Saints. And hopefully we'll get a few more. Here's the basic...

Fit Mom!

We went on a family trip to FSU today! Nikki starts class next week, and we wanted to scout it out and see where all his classes will be. Recently, Parley has decided that he hates riding in the car. He had just woken up from his nap and eaten, which is normally his happiest time. It didn't matter. He screamed the whole drive. But once he was there, he was quite the charmer. Random people talk to you if you're holding a baby, and we made some friends. Everyone is so excited for Nikki to start! We're excited for him, too. He's going to be exceptional, I know it. Parley was very patient with the whole thing, but by the end, after all the screaming and chatting and walking around in the hot world, he got tuckered out. And he loves being carried by his dad. He fell dead asleep in Nikki's arms and stayed asleep the whole ride home. (His cute hat is from Thelma.) I cooked chicken and quinoa for dinner which tasted better than last time I cooked quinoa! Parley and I had a ...

Our Life

There's something so special about doing exactly what you've always wanted to do. I don't want to forget it, so let me tell you about what a day looks like for us.  Parley usually wakes up around (within an hour of) 7:30. He's happy and being rolly polly baby in his crib but starting to get impatient to squak loud enough to wake me up. He eats, and then we play for about an hour. I've fallen asleep on the floor next to him a few times in more tired mornings. He'll fall back asleep and sleep in his crib for about an hour. I usually take a nap at the same time.  After that, his naps are much less predictable. He'll go about 1.5-3 hours between naps and sleeps anywhere from 20 minutes to 2.5 hours. If he sleeps in his crib, they are usually about 45 minutes. When he sleeps, I work on my job and thesis, cook and clean, and hang out with Nikki. I love all those things. When he's awake, we play, cook and clean, and hang out with Nikki. Also love those. :) I ta...
